The history of the Jersey Petanque Club has its origins in friendly games of boules on St. Ouen’s beach, progressing to more challenging encounters on campsites in France and culminated in regular gatherings of enthusiasts at the Old Portelet Inn before the club was eventually established in April 1986.
Four local residents had first proposed the idea for a club in Jersey and through the columns of the local Jersey Evening Post, they encouraged others to join them. The results of the Mixed Doubles, Club Triples & Summer Melee are at the results page and the report on the visit by the Club to Coutances over the weekend of 22nd to 24th August is also viewable via the News/Results page.
The second round of the competition against Carrefour Club was on Saturday 13th September at the Carrefour Club terrains and on Sunday 14th was the new "Presidents Trophy" competition at Les Quennevais. Results of both of these will be on the website soon. The last major competition of the year is the Club Doubles on Sunday 28th. See the fixture list for full details and times.
