JSAD Series
The Jersey Petanque Club recently held three sessions of the game, in conjunction with the JSAD, for a number of people with learning and other disabilities.
These evenings have been held for a number of years now and are becoming increasingly popular. The J.P.C members look forward to seeing old and new friends for a game of petanque and the customary tea and cakes afterwards. Once again the weather this year was very kind to us for all three evenings.
John Welsh of C.I. Engravers kindly donated medals for all the participants together with trophies which were won by: -
Best Male: Len Richardson

July 14th - BASTILLE NIGHT
Bastille Day, the French national holiday, commemorates the storming of the Bastille, which took place on 14 July 1789 and marked the beginning of the French Revolution. The Bastille was a prison and a symbol of the absolute and arbitrary power of Louis the 16th's Ancient Regime. By capturing this symbol, the people signaled that the king's power was no longer absolute: power should be based on the Nation and, talking about power, the Jersey Petanque Club celebrated Bastille Day in typical French style, with a series of games on the evening of Saturday 14th July.
Some 50 members of the Club attended a social and sporting event at the Club’s terrains at Les Quennevais. There were some excellent scores returned and the final placings were extremely close with the eventual winners only being ahead by the smallest of margins.
Linda Taylor secured first place for the ladies while Lyndon Lewis emerged as the men’s winner.
