JPC vs CPC - BIRCH CABARET TROPHY

The first round of the annual competition between the two clubs took place at Quennevais on 11th July and at the end of that afternoons's play, CPC led 31-29, a slender but important margin in view of the fact that the second round would be held on their home terrain.

The second round was held on Sunday 19th September and as usual, consisted of 15 teams from each club, playing four games. JPC took the first set of games 10-5 but lost the second, 7-8. This meant that at the half way stage, JPC were four up on the day and two up overall. Obviously invigorated by the tea and superb selection of cakes, JPC took the third set 11-4, leaving CPC a mountain to climb in the fourth game. As it was, JPC won that set as well, albeit by a sedate 8-7, to take the day 36-24 and the overall competition 65-55. The tally of wins now stands at 9-6 to Carrefour.
