Club member DEREK HART won the Island Singles championship at Samares Manor on 17 June organised by the JPA. Of the 28 entrants who played in four groups, both Derek and Gordon de Gruchy won their groups. Gordon lost his semi-final to Robert Birch but Derek beat Darren le Brun to make it into the final.
Here Derek too a comanding lead and went on to a resounding victory, winning by 13-1, to become the Island Singles Champion of 2006.
